Kelly Murphy and Penny Allphin On October 31, 2006, HSMAI University officially launched its two new certifications to provide professionals in the hospitality industry with the opportunity to prominently showcase and market their talents and expertise. The two certifications in both hospitality sales and marketing - the CHSC (Certified in Hospitality Sales Competencies), and in revenue management - the CRME (Certified Revenue Management Executive), join HSMAI's long-recognized industry standard, the CHME (Certified Hospitality Marketing Executive).

These designations are earned by those professionals who that have effectively demonstrated the credibility, knowledge, expertise and confidence that has become increasingly necessary in today's fast-moving and ever-changing hospitality industry.

To become certified, one must meet the minimum qualifications and take an online examination. Applicants must be currently and actively employed in the hospitality industry, including lodging, airlines, cruise lines, car rental companies, convention and visitors bureaus, and other related segments, such as vendors and suppliers.

Certified in Hospitality Sales Competencies (CHSC)

Showing tremendous support for the new program and demonstrating its forward-thinking business philosophy and willingness to invest in their management team, InterContinental Hotels Mexico has committed to certify their key hotel directors of sales and marketing through the process.

In addition, SGMP (Society of Government Meeting Planners) has contracted with us for 5 years to provide a training program and certification exam at their annual meeting for their exhibitors.
