HSMAI Leadership Team

Are you a leader with a passion for our industry? Are you ready to help make a difference in the future of our association? If you answered YES, you may be the perfect candidate to serve on the 2024 HSMAI AZ Leadership Team as a committee chair or co-chair, and make a difference in YOUR industry association.

The current Board of Directors is in the process of planning the program of events and building the Leadership Team for the upcoming new year. If you are not already a part of our team, we encourage you to consider it. This is the time to step forward and help to make important decisions to boost our members’ prosperity and success, AND let your voice be heard!

Leader Responsibilities

  • In the event a Board member is unable to attend a board meeting; the chair or co-chair of their respective committee can attend on their behalf – with no voting rights.
  • Attendance at the Fall Leadership Retreat as expected (December 10 & 11 in Prescott, AZ)
  • Punctual arrival at all Committee meetings and adherence to Robert’s Rules of Order.
  • Organization of all material requested by the Board
  • Maintenance of all committee communications for “Chapter of the Year” submission.
  • Ongoing communication with your Board Liaison
  • Adherence to HSMAI’s Code of Ethics.
  • Active participation in the Chapter events and activities.
  • Active in recruiting new committee members
  • Active in recruiting new members for the chapter.
  • The commitment to making this 2024 term a very successful and fun year!

HSMAI Active Committees

41st Annual Auction & Fundraiser: This industry event is our biggest fundraiser of the year, held in July of each year.

Annual Awards Gala: This is our year-end event that celebrates our chapter accomplishments, our members and honors our Awards of Excellence recipients.

Collegiate Relations: This committee is responsible for promoting HSMAI to potential student members and liaising with these students to provide mentoring and internship opportunities.

Communications: This committee serves as the editorial staff for the production of the quarterly HSMAI e-newsletter. The committee also oversees the chapter website, social media, public relations and marketing efforts and the Annual Frank Berkman Chapter Awards of Excellence submissions.

Community Outreach: This committee plans and coordinates community service/volunteer projects throughout the year and serves as a liaison with HSMAI’s “Charity of the Year” projects.

Education/Programs: This committee provides beneficial learning experience and leadership growth opportunities for members by planning and implementing all chapter education programs.

Fall Fling: This event, held in October, is our annual fundraising event and mixer.

Golf Tournament: This committee plans and implements the annual HSMAI/MPI HospitaliTee Golf Tournament, held in May of each year.

Host & Hospitality: This committee welcomes members and prospective members at monthly meetings and events, assists with registration, solicits raffle prize donations for our monthly meetings, sells raffle tickets and calls members each month to remind them of our monthly meetings and events.

Membership: This committee develops, promotes and maintains our membership and develops initiatives to provide members with benefits and return on investment (ROI).

Sponsorship: This committee is responsible for overseeing the chapter sponsorship program to include soliciting corporate members and ensuring that all donors receive the appropriate benefits and recognition in return for their sponsorship.
